For 2026, the modena speed series continues to evolve through years of testing, fine-tuning, and record-breaking performance at the luderitz speed challenge. every size is built to deliver maximum speed, stability, and control — the essence of av-boards’ racing dna.

The modena speed 40 remains the reference model, born directly from years of speed record development. it represents the purest combination of control, acceleration, and absolute top speed.

Building on this foundation, the modena speed 45 keeps the same bottom shape and scoop line as the 40, but adds a slightly increased v on the tail. with its wider outline and tail, thicker rails, and 13 liters of extra volume, the 45 is the perfect weapon for medium to strong wind speed competitions, delivering lift, drive, and total control at the limit.

The modena speed 52 evolves further, maintaining the same base concept as the 45 but with a slightly deeper tail v for improved control and comfort in choppy open-water conditions. the concave deck lowers the stance, increasing stability and momentum through lulls, keeping the board perfectly trimmed and fast.

With its 78 liters of volume, the modena speed 52 is the ultimate choice for open-water speed sessions and super-fast, high-wind slalom runs — combining power, precision, and top-end control for riders chasing new limits.

Modena Speed 40


  • Scoopline & Bottom: Flat scoopline from the tail to 93 cm from the tail, transitioning into a straight, constant bottom curve toward the nose.

  • Bottom Shape: Flat from tail to 60 cm, then sliding into a slight 0.5 mm concave toward the nose. Light 1 mm double concave from front foot to mast track.

  • Outline: Maximum width shifted toward the nose for a straight outline from mid-board to tail, with 24.5 cm width at 1 foot from the tail.

  • Rails: Super low rail shape to absorb chop at full speeds of 40–50 knots.

Modena Speed 45


  • Bottom Shape: Flat for the first 60 cm from the tail, sliding into a slight 0.5 mm concave toward the nose. Light 1 mm double concave from front foot to mast track.

  • Scoopline: Slight 2 mm tail kick, nose higher than the 40.

  • Rails & Deck: Fuller rails than the 40; light concave on deck to allow more pressure on rails. Can be sailed with sails up to 7.0 m².

Modena Speed 52


  • Scoopline: 1.5 mm tail kick.

  • Bottom Shape: Light V on the tail, flat for 40 cm from the tail, light 0.5 mm concave between front foot and mast track, with a light double concave.

  • Deck & Rails: 15 mm concave deck; rail shape similar to slalom boards.
